Many peope have done it. Search the forum for "shave wiper".

Not all models of the RX-7 come with a rear wiper so it's not really a problem.

Thanks, not so easy to know what to type when I search cause I'm norwegian so I don't know all kinds of english car-slang.

I'm gonna do this to my rex as soon as I sell off all of my other POS cars and can afford a bare metal re-spray. Going ultra-smooth.

Why not just unbolt it and put a black vinyl "cup" over the exposed stud? Looks pretty good, and you still have the functional wiper when you need it. You're also maintaining the originality of the car, and when it comes time for re-sale it will make a HUGE difference in the value if it is unmolested.

I wouldn't say its horrible, as you can surely get by without it, but I like mine and it serves its purpose.

Yeah I was thinking of swapping my '94 hatch with my '93 R1 (no wiper) to get one, but the '94 hatch got pretty "F"'ed up in the crash... and I didn't want to put a hole in it... So I've thought it over and really don't need it.. so I left it alone... California doesn't get much rain anyhow...

i don't have a rear wiper on my FD either, but i use the same principle while driving as i did when i played hockey (drive with glasses play without)... if something alot bigger than you is coming at you REALLY quick, get out of the way, especially when its blurry and you can't tell what it is although, i had one on my last car (2002 RSX type-S) and kinda wish my FD had one, but i'm not about to start cutting and butchering the untouched beauty just for a minor convenience.

This is what I did. I never used my rear wiper, even when it would rain. Acutally I dont even use my front wipers, and with them removed the car looks much cleaner. A nice coat of wax or rain-x, but that stuff is streaky, on the windows and once you get moving the water runs right off.
