there are a couple of places you can find a new engine or reman. You can try www.pettitracing.com for there engines or you can always go to your mazda dealer. They give you 50% off the engine if you give them your old one.

I think he's referring to "core charges" that most dealers charge you.

thats makes me a bit relieved that i could get 50% off even if it is the core charge. All these evil thoughts to get another car because of a fear that i wont have a lot of money to get a reman engine or something if it breaks down.

if i could only win that damn lottery!!!!

Well, you are still looking at about $2000 without any labor charges. Mallory seems to be the cheapest for a reman (around $2000 with your core.. I think it's around $4000 without a core which is where that 50% thing came from).

So, unless you have help to remove your engine and install the new one, you'll have to figure in labor costs.

Malloy Mazda

Remans come with 95% new parts. Reman motor is $1950 plus shipping, which will be significant for you being in Cali, and Malloy being in Woodbridge VA.

You should also try Rob Golden at Pineapple Racing. If you can be without your car, you could have Rob rebuild the motor that's already in your car?

Cork Sport has 20b's listed under their available engines page, with a picture and price there too. If I remember correctly, they also have a couple of ***'s there with captions at the bottom of the page saying that that engine is hard to locate. That pretty much means that you'll have to wait for it if you decide to order one. They'll just ship you the next available one or if there is a waiting list, put you in line.
