Releasing the A/C
I am working on my fmic installation right now and I'm to the point where I will need to release the gas from the a/c system and drain the radiator. Problem is... I have no clue where these systems empty from. Also, driving the car to have the a/c recyled is out of the question. What should I do?
On another point, what is the best and cheapest, battery I should use for after the front mount install with a sound system (800w)?

If you had some AC equipment, I would suggest you thread a hose onto the low pressure service port (schraeder valve on the larger aluminum line between the fender well and the intakes) and bleed it off with a valve. I would recommend against just sticking a screwdriver in the valve though.. it'll most certainly freeze open and you won't be able to control it.. it'll get **** all over the car.
The next easiest thing to do is probably crack the 10mm bolts on the drier until you just hear gas venting. And let it take its time. If you do it slowly, you'll keep all of the oil in the system.
Hope that helps.

I have no AC equipment. My best bet sound like cracking the 10mm bolts on the drier. Where is the drier and the bolts on the drier located? easiest access points??? Are you sure I'm suppose to keep the oil in the system? Is there even suppose to be oil in the AC system?
I just have so many questions.

Its an HKS RZ-013 for the twins. Are you sure i can do it without releasing the AC. It says in the instructions to do it. (not that I actually read them... *cough*) If not doing it because of the instructions, shouldn't I do it for safety.

Your making this to complicated. If you don't know where the drier is, then you don't know what it looks like. You better read the inst. The Drier is (if your facing the engine, standing in front of the car) on the right side of the intercooler (shaped like a beer can). Has two aluminum lines going in the top, and each line has a 10mm bolt holding it in.
Just loosen one a little and jiggle/twist the fitting, their kind square. once it starts pissing out put a rag over it, an go have a smoke. it should be about done when you finish. WEAR SOME GOGGLES

I am very sure you cannot instal a fmic without bleeding out the pressure in the black beer can. I had to do it and every FMIC my buddies have installed required this same sacrifice.

While you may be able to accomplish this without bleeding the system, it'll be a thousand times easier with the flexibility to get everything out of the way. Bleeding the system is just about like turning a whole can of "air in a can" upside down and squeezing the trigger. It's not quite as bad as sometimes it's made out to be.
FYI: Yes, there is oil in the system that libricates the compressor. There is a specif amount, and it's of a specific type. When you go to refil the system, if you don't take it to an AC guy and have him evacuate it all first, that will need to be takein into consideration.
Also, the AC system does take kindly to moisture inside it. The dryer is basically a bag of dessicant in that can, but once you open the system to atmosphere you expose it to moisture. I recommend (a) capping the lines as you un-bolt them, and (b) don't take a week to close the system again.
