Question Redoing fuel system and ran into snag.

I'm redoing my fuel system and changing the lines to stainless braided lines with AN fittings. I'm keeping my stock rails but went to aftermarket FPR, but now I'm stuck at what to use to at the primary rail where the stock FPD was. I need a piece that is an AN fitting but also fits into the primary rail where the FPD was. What can I use to achieve this? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, do I need a fuel rail space for the primary rail if I'm still using the stock rails?

You're gonna need to put threads into your fuel rail. i used a -6an to 1/4 inch adapter. theres a write up from banzai-racing.com, except they used a barbed adapter. Go to the tech section and look under fuel pulsation dampner elimination.

Thanks, when I originally searched...it was giving me a bunch of dead links...it looks like banzai made a note about AN fittings.
NOTE: If you are running SS lines, you can install a 45 degree 6AN fitting (i.e. Summit Racing Part #SUM-220655). This allows clearance of the rear oil injector.

Thats what it looks like, where did you pick them up if you don't mind my asking, and did you have to modify them at all? Thanks.

What did you do to keep it from leaking? I have something like that right now but its leaking right where it meets the rail...what are the part numbers from the pieces you got?

No way I would ever trust a gasket or RTV.

They better be machined and o-ring sealed like the FPD and FPR, or they will leak.

Like this:

It also looks like the primary rail fitting will have an interference issue with the rear iron coolant nipple, that one in the pic has been removed.

That's the piece I have for it, but it seems like the part where the o-ring goes isn't big enough to make a proper leak free seal, what is the proper size that I need to fit in the rail? O and it doesn't get in the way of the coolant passage as far as I noticed...then again I didn't fully bolt everything down because I was still checking for leaks.

That is the HKS adapter, it is only for use on the secondary rail when installing an aftermarket FPR. It can not be used to eliminate the FPD. Just tap the rail and install the 45 degree fitting we list on the how-to.

I was referring to fittings on the primary rail pictured above, interfering with the rear iron nipple. You can clearly see it has been removed, tapped and plugged.

WHY is there no adapter fixed for the primary rail FPD side yet

all kinds of adapters I find to change FPR, but the 1mm bigger hole in the primary no one have fixed?

funny the you, bansai racing, haven't fixed it, who are selling a lot of parts for the rx-7 .
perharps a good idea since perhaps many, like me, are kind of reserved about tapping the primary rail?

there are, like I said MAANY adapters to various cars, but never measurements... if only one other car had a 12mm outlet for the FPR, then that could be used to the FD's primary inlet...

anybody have any clue to other cars outlets, how big the holes are :P

First, I hate AN fittings

Second, it doesent look tidy and original

But just now found out that the entry and exit on the primary rail is the same size. Going to get an extra original fitting and hose between the primary and secondary, and do something with that! :-)
