Redline...

I have been to redline, and it was heaven.

I have owned a Saturn, a Civic, a '73 Datsun 240Z, and a '66 California Mustang (289-4V, not the fastback). Only the Mustang had power.

I had a '68 Camaro SS for two weeks (350hp), and while it had power, it didn't have POWER.

I saw 80 in 2nd gear. I couldn't even come close to finishing 3rd (stopped at 90 in the 40 zone, no traffic, straight and flat).

The reason I pushed the machine was to test the boost (I just finished hooking up - not "installing" a boost gauge, my first foray into auto mechanics...). Well, I got boost.

Someting like 11-7-10, which I'm considering close enough for now.

Damn that was fun. And now it's raining in Arizona, what a crock.

I got my '93 Touring 2 days ago, and I love it. I just sit in the garage and look at it. And then I get my shop manual and start taking it apart. And then I put it together. And then I drive it.

That's what I mean.

Boost is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
I miss my torque monster (TA with a 400cid in it) but boost is VERY fun

Whoa, you got to 80mph in second gear? Are you driving an auto because in order to get to 80 in second gear of a stock manual FD, you gotta be revving to over 9000rpm and that can't be good for your engine.

P.S. The next time you go out driving, try to see if its a little more peppy at lower rpms, usually when I go to redline a couple of times, the next day there is a little more power down low.
