to an extent
I have red highlights in my FD. where coop has red, i have carbon fiber. I have red on the window button consoles on both sides (instead of c.f.), the sliding ash tray, and shift boot. everything else is carbon fiber to match the cloth seats. i'll post a couple pics to this post on friday when i get my digi cam back.

I was going to go with a dash trim kit, but I didn't quite understand what I would be getting for $125. It seemed like some stickers to put on my panels...so I decided to paint my interior myself. It was quite a bit cheaper $30 but probably a lot more work (remove old paint then re-paint it). I never got to see a dash trim kit up close, I may have changed my mind if I got to see one in person. (I was looking at the carbon fiber one also).

Hey Coop -
Nice interior. What kind of shift **** is that?
I am looking for a replacement for my worn stock one. Does it screw on, or is it the set screw type?
Thanks,
Patrick

Patrick,
thanks (about the interior), and the shift ****...well that is what came with my car when I purchased it used. I assume it is stock (seeing how everything else was). It screws on and then has the three set screws, and then a black thing that screws on over the set screws.
If you have any other questions, let me know,
-Dave

That shift **** is not stock. The stock one screws onto the shaft and that is it. Not set screws, no ring on the bottom. Also, the stock one is leather with holes in it....and has the shift pattern on it.
I like the one you have. I bet it is a momo or something....
Thanks,
Patrick

Yes, quite a few FDs have red interior, but the number is not overwhelming. Personally I don't like it. I also would not suggest buying it unless the rest of the car is perfect cause it will be hard for you to get pieces if anything breaks, which means you will probably have to go to the dealership. I know a good number of silver touring had red and a few black tourings had red, but I am not sure about the other exterior colors. And I am pretty sure that only tourings or base w/ touring options had the color cause no cloth/suede seats came in red, only leather. Also, you will probably find a variety of red interior when looking. I know for a fact some have ALL red (door panels, roof liner, bins, etc.) while others only have a few things, maybe carpet and seats such as posted above. And as far as the forum, Silver7 has red I know, but I can't remember anyone else.

Coop, once i get some pix taken, i'll send em to ya in an email. What is yer email anyhow? Also, yea, i agree, $125 for stickers is a bit much, but it grows on ya after a month or so. I thought that the stock interior could use a little extra spice, so i just went and bought one (as well as a strobe light for the 2nd dome light for those. . . .well. . u know, hehe)
Geez, this is getting a lil offtopic in a sense, hehe.

Just for the record, I have a '93 touring, it's black and had red interior. I don't have any pictures but it came with red door panels, seats, seatbelts, rear quarter panels, rear bins, cargo divider, headliner, sunroof panel, surround for sunroof, domelight/sunroof switch, and finally sun visors. Now this interior came on the 1993 tourings, but only the black and silver models. In 1994 mazda switched the interior to all black with exception to red carpet, as seen in the pic above. and red leather seats. I have also seen pics of white FD's in Japan with red interior, and also they now make the rear hatch carpet in red (black also) with the rx7 emblem embroidered on it. just a little fyi.
