Receipts

HI guys,
ive been looking through the site on receipts for a week or so now, and haven't found anything on the subject. I recently bought a "96 rx7 rz and have come to a problem. The car didn;t come with receipts, and being fairly inexperienced with cars and rotary's for tht matter i cant identify the mod's. I kinda need to find out because of getting insurance firstly, and just figuiring out what stage the car is at in terms of whats been done, and whats needed to b done.
I did ring a rotary place and explained myself, but the dude just pretty much hung up on me..
So i was wondering what my options are?
Thanks, and sorry for the long winded post.

Rem.

If I recall, a complete service history with receipts was important in the UK. I guess it may be important in NZ too? In the US, it is a nice selling point but only a small number of really **** people keep these for more than a few years before they get bored. I tried to keep mine for several cars that I have owned but lost almost all of them.

Change all the fluids and the spark plugs, FPD, fuel filter and then read the FAQ for other suggestions.

If you can take some pictures of the engine bay, the interior and the exhaust; people here can help identify what they see.

oh and btw..just found out all mods on the car apparently have been certified. Does that mean the vin plate will say exactly whats been done to it?

Thanks, i really appreciate your guys help.

The only mods I really see are what looks like a Mazda Speed cold air intake (which i would imagine could be "certified" by a dealer) and the shiny hard pipes which dont really have much effect.

Yep, that and a bunch of ground wires, maybe the HKS Circle Earth grounding kit. Unfortunately, I also see a stock AST, which should be the first thing to go.

Ok thanks guys for looking at the pic. Just one more thing, if i post a pic of the vin plate can u interpret off that what mod's been done because apparently they've been certified. Oh and its got a power fc im told, how is one to verify this?

pretty sure the vin plate will be of no help...

and the power fc should be somewhere inside the cockpit. i dont know if there is a commander or not with your setup. i am not overly familiar with pfc's, but since its replacing your stock ecu, i'm guessing that it will be where your old ecu was. it should say power fc on it...

this is wat it should look like:

Yea that is what the PFC would look like (the silver box). Im not sure on RHD cars whether the ecu is on the right or left side, but in LHD cars its behind the passenger kick panel which is where the PFC would be put. Oh and the vin would not tell you anything about modifications only what year and model it was.
