recalibrating the throttle sensor
Ok so Ive searched the forums and ive found some info on recalibrating the throttle position sensor but some of the directions were kinda vague.
Can someone help me out.
I understand i need a volt meter.I got one. And that i need to loosen the bottom screw on the tps and also barely loosen the top screw.I also know that I need to get these readings.
Green/red wire
closed throttle 1.00 volts
wide open throttle 4.99 volts
Black wire
closed 0.4 volts
open 4.3 volts
heres where im stuck.The directions i found called for tightening of two screws on the throttle body.Which screws?Also where exactly are these two wires that im supposed to get these readings from? Are they on the tps? or are they on the harness that plugs into the tps? Also can i just touch the positive tester on these wires or is there a special technique? I read something about a safety pin?So if anyone has any pics or really good info on how to do this id really appreciate the help.Thanx

the fast idle cam is located on the back side of the TB.
Mine was disabled when I bought the car, but I think that it increases the idle when cold. (although mine also still revs higher when it is cool
)
The idle adjust screw is on the bottom right-ish side of the TB looking at it from the driver's side. There is a notch molded into the elbow to allow adjustment while it is still installed, but I removed the elbow the first time i adjusted the screw because I had trouble finding it.

thank you for the valuable info.Well im off to recalibrate the damn thing.I would have done it yesterday but the weather was shitty.I did however test it and sure enough the top wire is out of whack while the bottom one is within spec.So im going to mess with it today.
So if any of you guys are having some retarted idle issues check your tps.It more than likely out of calibration.

Alright.So ive recalibrated the tps and well so far so good.I took the car out for a little spin and its running pretty good.I think the only doubt in my mind right now is why the car still likes to idle at about 1100rpms.Im sure one of the adjustment screws or the throttle cable is set too high.I used to have low idle problems so that was my easy fix at the time.
