any of the kits can make the power as long as you use new housings and dont cheap out when rebuilding. Oem mazda parts will make that power if you need them to.

Rotary Aviation 2mm's suck. My friend rebuild his with them and the seals were wearing unevenly and he started loosing compression within a couple thousand miles of the rebuild. This was about a year ago. Unless they've changed the materials since then, Id stay far away from RA for 2mm seals. He's using 3mm RA seals now and has no problems with them though.

Your best bet is to buy a blown longblock (or shortblock if you cant find a longblock). Try and find one with a bad coolant seal so you dont have to replace one of the rotors. Then just buy a rebuild kit and you're good to go.

I bought a shortblock with a bad rotor for $300 and he dropped it off at my apt. Spent another $150 to buy a LIM, UIM, and TB. Then $50 for the water pump housing. If you're thinking of building a second engine before your current one blows, this is the way to go. You dont really need the intake system like I do, but Im polishing the second one I bought since I DD my FD. Rebuild the spare, then when yours pops all you have to do is swap over all the external parts that bolt onto the engine (alt, brackets, fuel system, ignition, etc..)

WTF. $600? Maybe its a long block. I paid $300 and it came as a fully intact engine, but no intake system and no water pump housing. He left the flywheel on it though. Probably because he didnt have the socket to take it off (I do...hehe). If you were down here in San Antonio I could probably find you one for $300. I know pretty much all the FD guys in town. But shipping it somewhere is a bitch. They're small engines, but they're ****** heavy. I learned the hard way. I dropped it on my big toe.

Sure. Mazda, Mazda Motorsports, Mazdatrix... etc.. Mazdatrix sells a motor with all new components, but it's about $7000.

Think about it. New rotor hoursing are about $600 each new. Used good ones are then around $300 or more. Side housings are about $450 new, so used in good condition are probably around $200-300 a piece (3 of them). That the prices on just the housings. Rotors are also about $600 a piece new, so used good ones around around $300-350. Getting a blown motor for $600 with most of the parts reuseable is a damn good price. A blown motor sent in as a core charge is worth $1000 when purchasing a reman.

Nope. The cheapest you'll find "new" is going to be Mazda Motorsports, but you have to be a member. I believe their price was a little over $500.
