Question rebuild and mods pricing from NZ input needed :)

Hey there people, I have posted a few posts on my motor being blown and mods ect, I have finally got pricing back from the rotary specialists in Auckland and would just like you opinion on the pricing and if anything has been left off

It is interesting the difference between pricing and the guy Mark from rotary engine specialists was who i was reommended as the best

Rotary engine specialists estimate,

They supply a race engine start up warrenty

2 x rotor housings $1597.20
1 x thrust bearing $148.50
1 x top radiator hose $28.60
1 x water hose ?? $15.76
1 x silicone vac hose and cable tie job $360.00
1 x large front pipe (down pipe?) HPC coated
----$950.00

1 x race radiator series 8 $1,150.00
9 x dowles in engine $1,600.00
1 x heavy duty pressure plate and puk clutch
------$928.12

1 x lightnened fly wheel and bolts heavy duty
-----$510.00

1 x clean primary injectors $130.00
1 x fuel rail and large injector setup( he tells me they are 1600cc
------$570.00

1 x dyno tune power fc $650.00
1 x wideband afr gauge and o2 sensor $657.42
1 x mill rotors for 3 mill seals $130.00
1 x check turbos $120.00
1 x port waste gate $450.00
1 x check gearbox $180.00
1 x bridge port primary plates $480.00

sub total $10,655.60

total including GST (dam tax lol) $11,987.55

All prices are in New Zleanad dollars, and as far as i can gather all parts are supplied and installed, Mark has not quoted any names on the parts just called them race radiator and wideband gauge ect do you think it would be worth while to ask him to quote the brand of the parts he is planning on using?

Now I also have a mechanicle insurance police that has covered my engine for the rebuild, I have a $250 excess that i have to pay and the insurance company covers the rebuild upto $5000.00 he has not priced the rebuild of the motor and has said that I will just have to pay anything over the $5000.00

So as far as i can see the whole job will cost about $16,987.55 with insurance company paying the $5000.00 and me paying the $11,987.55

Would you be happy with this work and pricing if it was your car?? and Does anyone else have mechanical insurance on the car ?

The other 2 companies that i talked to one wanted $15,000.00 for the same work as rotary engine specialists and the other was cheeper but had left a few bits off their priing and the guy i talked to there didnt even know what the AST was lol *shaking my head* so have pretty much chosen to go with the RES Guys
Just wantd others opinions before i jumped in head first

Oh I have the stock 99 turbos and i do plan on upgrading to the BNR stage 3 turbos in the next 3 to 6 mths as i know the stock twins do not match up with the powerband of the half bridge,

Any info is appreciated

Thanks Mark

Are you familar with FD Kai? local NZ FD club in Auckland. Go to FDKai web site and get in touch with Glen, he is the main man that you want to talk to about a rebuilt. I know that he has tons of connection with local shops and parts from Japan. You can't go wrong with going this avenue.

That seems pretty damn expensive to me... pm me if you're interested in the guy who built my motor (and a lot of the FD Kai guys motors)

Kiwi-RE who charge big $, list price on their site for housings, is cheaper than your RES quote... And I can get them cheaper again... I think I paid $450 for each new housing

Hey guys, I have talked to a fair few people, and talked also to the guys from RX7 heven, Kiwi RE and RES,

Dezigns I have a price from Kiwi RE for rotor housings $798.32 wihic is pratically the same as res, RX7 heven was $880.00 and just for example the injectors from rx7 heven were $1200.00 and RES was for fuel rail and injectors $570.00. Kiwi RE end price was $14,171.65 so more expensive and they didnt price in a radiator, or the porting of the waste gate as they have told me that I cannot port it lol But I will PM you as i am interested in to where you got your housings from Thanks man

d1rx7 I live in the bay of plenty I have tried to check out the link on rotahavik but it wouldnt work.... And how much do you beleive.... I have been on the site before and they were talking about one of my mates that owned a rotary shop, saying he was doing all sorts of mods and custom **** to a altezza he was building, none of it was true as i saw the car every week and it just sat in the same spot doing nothing lol information is good but, but i dont know who to beleive anymore lol everyone tells me something different..... ha ha I will pm you also and have a chat about the mazda parts you say you can get good deals on Thanks man

And solorx7freak Yeah it is a alot of $$$ Hope its worth it, and i have no idea on HP yet as I still plan on getting the BNR stage 3 turbos and a bigger intercooler in the next 3 to 6 mths just getting the work done to the motor while it is out and apart seemed a shame not to ha ha thanks man
