Rear end noise?

I have a 93 Fd with 81K on the it. When crusing at highway speeds 40+ I hear a lot of noise from the rear. I changed the diff fluid and saw just a normal amount of shavings on the magnetic drain plug. Also I had both rear wheel brg replaced. Any ideas

I chased my tail for awhile tying to track down noise that I thought was from the diff, turned out to be some really loud tires! Something to consider any way.

I bought this car 3 years ago and it came with KOMHO ECSTA MX 255/50ZR16 92W. Due you think these tires are the problem.

It could also be your Pillow ***** or toe links...They make noises when they're bad and seem to fail commonly.

As tires age they generally get louder. Search tirerack.com for reviews on the tire you have and see if anybody mentions anything about them being noisy.

what kind of noise are you hearing? tires do not make clanking sounds. It will be easier to tell you what's wrong if you let us know.

If it's just on one side it could be the breaks or a wheel bearing.

It sounds like rear wheel brgs. But i had both rear wheel brg replaced when i had the engine rebuilt. It is a high pitch whinn and gets louder the faster you go.
