rear end diff housing,, strength?? replacement??

i was wondering what the drag racers or people with hi HP output rx7s use for their diff. (500rwhp+) Moreso the diff housing/rear end. i see a few people breaking the housings, i know Vosko broke at least 2, brian hinson with his v8-7 broke one so far.
With drag racing and hard launches,, its going to break again, what can be done to prevent this? Aside from not launching as hard, but where would be the fun in that be?
Do people swap out the entire rear end with something else? WHat do they use?
I am curious/worried simply because i am going with the route of the v-8 swap. i had a street ported single turbo setup, lasted 4k, im done with rotaries. I love drag racing, the v8 will give me plenty of power, still damn near 50/50 weight dist. as well.
thanks to all that help me out and actually dont turn this into a flame war because im swappin in a ls1...

Resource put a 8.8 Ford rear end in his FD earlier this year and did a good write up on it. Here is the link.

damn, that project seems like its way more involved than the ls1 swap itself....
i guess ill not have to launch very hard and or ride the clutch a wee bit, then let all hell break loose!
I might be buying a procharger for the engine,, heh heh heh 7-8 psi is like 450 RWHP! and 500Ft Lbs!

Will the Kaaz and larger axles be stronger than the stock setup? Or it still wont matter becuase the diff housing is going to crack anyhow???

Im on my third diff in my LT1 FD and fourth in my LS1 FC. I finally got a turbo2 rear for the FC but I am gonna end up with a 8.8 or 9" in the FD. Go to V8rx7.com (the forum), very friendly bunch of people. They will understand your problems and torque isnt a dirty word over there.

edit: about the actual housing breaking the I met the guy with the american flag painted FD at a race(cant remember his name) and he built a cage around his diff to hold it together...looked like a good plan

caging the diff housing sounds pretty good to me,, i have a welder/cutting torch, i know i can fab something that will do the trick..
megaspeed,,,
what exactly are you breaking on the FD? the diff itself where the axles plug into? the ring gear? the pinion? Are you using a kaaz? thanks.

How many people here would be interested in a CNC-machined diff brace that's been engineered from a standpoint of resisting shearing and flexing forces?

you got my vote, im going to need it, that ford 8.8 rear not only takes away handling, but looks like a project and a half. i know over the winter, i will weld up a brace for the rear end,, unless someone else comes out with something pimp.
What would be sweet is 2 CNC'ed pieces that slip over both sides while being snuff/tight on the housing and bolt together. Mine wont be CNC, but ill be using the same concept. So long it has adaquate pressure on the housing, it should do the trick.
That RX7 with the american flag painted all over it is sponsored by Rx7.com im pretty sure, i may hit them up with an email. Doesnt hurt to ask.
