Rear defroster - broken grid

My rear defroster has some broken grid lines and leaves a patch of window fogged up. Very annoying!

Has anyone used any of the repairs kits? I want to work but look as good and oem as possible. Wondering about the color matching etc. Yes I'm picky!

I have the same issue, actually I'd like to just replace the window with a new one but I haven't been able to find a source.

Just ran a quick search on Safelite.com for a 93 rear windshield with Blue Tint.

Here’s our offer for you:

Quote*:
$454.95
Web-only price includes:

Stringently tested glass meeting NHTSA standards
SafeTech-certified installation
Nationwide lifetime guarantee
*Quote does not include tax, disposal fee or additional service options.

Whether or not they actually have them readily available is another story though.

I had a few nicks in my defroster lines from having tint removed. Before I had the window re-tinted, I got a defroster repair kit from the parts store. Cleaned the glass thoroughly and used painter's tape to mask off the top and bottom of the line. Painted it on and there ya go. You can use a multimeter and test continuity on each line.

Might be worth painting it on, letting it dry, then doing a second coat.

Color was near-identical if not identical to the OEM orange/red color.

I'm pretty sure it was Permatex, I just bought it at Autozone or whatever.

That was years ago, still going just fine.

You have to be very, very careful and diligent to make the repair kits work AND not look like, well...***.
