Re-setting steering shaft
Re-setting steering shaft
Long story short, I loosened the engine subframe to get it down to make dropping in my new engine easier.
To get the subframe down I also loosened the intermediate steering shaft in the engine bay and it popped out of its spline when lowering the subframe as planned, however in the heat of the moment I forgot to lock the steering wheel in place and it spun counter clockwise when the shaft went out.. now I did mark the orientation of the shaft, but I don't know how much the shaft spun round when it popped out, which means I could be off by one (or more?) revolutions when re-installing it. Is there any way to "reset" the steering shaft? Thinking I might have to take of the steering wheel and check the clock spring maybe?

Pull the steering wheel and recenter the clock spring by hand, carefully rotating it back and forth to find the center. They are easy to break and expensive to replace.
