RE front fender mirrors

i was just wondering if anyone has ever done this on this side of the pacific ocean? ive seen it a lot on re amemiya cars and was just wondering if anyone had any pics or info on the subject. i would think that they do this mod for high speed drivin when u cant look away from the road. would it eliminate a blind spot or just make a bigger one? and yes i did a search but there was like 2 threads and not too many responses, some dated back to '02.

I've never seen an FD here in the US w/ it... although I think if you do it right, you could get away w/ it looking pretty good. I like how it looks on the old school first gens

~Ramy

PS: If you decide to get the mirrors, hit me up...I can get 'em for ya

I keep checking on this thread to see if anyone in the US has a pic of their car with the RE mirrors.

how much did they cost and do they come with a plate to go over the hole that the stock mirrors leave. I have jason(CFinovasion) trying to come up with a CF plate to cover the hole that the stock mirror leave so i can fit my APR GT3 mirrors on but i've always liked the fender mounted mirrors a lot better so i might go this route.

Holy crap, that FD is from the Mid Night race group in Japan. I've heard that those guys are no joke and regularly pull very high speed runs on the Wangan there. The groups made up of only high powered cars and count a few exotics in their group as well.

there was a guy who mounted his stock side mirrors onto his fenders IIRC...

I need Majik's amazing search ability to find it though...

Oh c'mon LOL...I'm one of the few hardcore JDM junkies on the forum. Few have spent as much as I have on rare JDM parts. Most of those parts are just on the downlow until my FD's finished...

So yea...for me, getting these parts is more about helping other JDM junkies get the parts they desire so badly...I know, cuz I'm like that myself

The plot thickens... haha. I'm getting more and more info about your car Kai haha. I wonder who's gonna finish their FD first?! Mine's got a solid 6 months from now...

Hey Ramy any luck with the bowtech generators...
Molds are being made as we speak.

Thanks

when they first came out i really disliked them, but they've definitely grown on me. Although i still can't say that i would buy a set...unless i were to buy the dry carbon version, but i don't think I would ever fork out $1300+ for a set of mirrors. I wonder if these fender mounted mirrors can be electronically adjusted from the cockpit.

its actually possible to do it yourself...if youre very careful. a friend of mine did it with his 85 GSL-SE with the power mirrors and actually once they were right where he wanted them he molded them to the fenders. it looks nice and sleek. just dont have ne pics

I think it really depends on the overall look of the car. A heavily modified FD (exterior-wise) can prob pull it off and look good doing it. Anything short of that will look pretty bad

Although i still can't say that i would buy a set...unless i were to buy the dry carbon version, but i don't think I would ever fork out $1300+ for a set of mirrors.
I feel you. Do it once, do it right. And YES guys, he's right about that price.

I wonder if these fender mounted mirrors can be electronically adjusted from the cockpit.
Honestly, given the price, and the fact that the teeny weeny mirrors are about as expensive as their CF GT spoilers, I think they MUST be electronically adjustable...or have some other secret to 'em. That price hike is simply too much - even for RE - for it simply to be due to the CF material.
