Re Amemiya vs Rotary Extreme light kits

I Was curious what the general difference and opinion was between these two flush mount light kits. From the pictures I see they look almost the same, I hear the RE Amemiya lense covers are less flat, but I have not seen both kits next to each other to really tell. Anyone who has experience or opinion feel free to comment cause I'm thinking about buying one of these kits. Thanks, Jerry

the re amemiya lens have a slight contour as oppose to the replicas. Also the lights from the re amemiya kit are from IPF. I've only used the Re Amemiya ones, little pricey, but i'm a label *****.

From speaking to Chuck (may have had info on his website too), his headlight kit is better as far as light output. Have friends that complained about lack of light on the Amemiya kit. Chuck also told me that the Rotary Run Racing light kit is better than his sleek light kit when it comes to light output....Light output meaning seeing better, not more wattage or kelvins.

Well, I guess it sounds like the RE-Amemiya lights are a little better, but more expensive. Thanks, for all the feedback

Ugh... Raceonusa... Good people, but their products are crap.

Keep in mind you get what you pay for, and you will always realize where your extra money went. I learned this in the past through trial and many errors.

Ive tried both the cwest kit and RE kit, go with the re kit. If chuck was still selling his kit i would go with those. The light quality of Hella capsules are superior hands down. If anything try to get the re amemiya housings and lens and hardware, but get the hella capsules and you wont be disappointed. Also note the hellas are DOT approved, even the HID capsules so if you ever get pulled over they're legit.

I have the R-Extreme kit...gotta say it's one of the lowest quality part I have on my car. The shop who installed it asked if I made it myself...how embarassing.

Yes...i just can't bring myself to type out that shop's fullname.

Check out those high quality plates/brackets!

And notice the weight reduction I got from fiberglass missing on the housing. :P

If the orig RE-A kit was like this, I'd recommend not pursuing it. The lamps are held on by spring tensioned screws which is also used for adjustments. This causes the lamps to bounce all over the place...nothing like cause seizure to oncoming traffic. Reminds me of those days when I had one of those bicycle lamps that is powered by a ur front wheel....bobble lamps.

I've added screws and weldnuts to fasten the lens cover (and using foam seal too). Here's a large (2.6MB) pix of it on the car: http://www.encompass-tech.com/photog...6/IMG_0029.JPG I've heard some ppl who use double-sided adhesive to have the lens come off during highway drives. Additionally, I've painted the brackets with black marine paint so they aren't so noticeable and won't rust.

Wow that's the first response I've seen that says the Rotary Extreme kit is very poor. How much of a real difference is there between the Rotary Extreme and the RE Amemiya kits?

Hopefully they have upped their quality by now... but in the past: I purchased a full aero kit that had the worst fitment I've ever seen. The quality of the fiberglass they used was sub-par at best, not to mention that I could hear it "flapping" in the wind while I drive.

After ordering that kit, I only purchased original brand name kits... shaving/trimming/modifying kits for hours on end is a big pain in the ***. Especially when it yields no performance gains. Dealing with that kit pissed me off enough that I didn't want to deal with body work again (granted I still will though) haaa.

I've been very happy, part of the bounciness I found was from the fact that it had nothing to support it at the bottom, so I had some aluminum brackets as a third leg (tripod) for the bottom made, and this reduced the bounciness 70%

Also RE-A's lights are pre-colored Black, and I didn't want to look like a caccon, chuck Rotary Extreme, allowed me to color them anything I wanted....
