Just curious, if someone purchases the lights from RE-Amemiya does the housing come in different colors? Or do you have to paint it to match your car?

The housings (Mine are black) come unpainted no matter whom you order from, the lenses (mine are red) you get painted black from RE-Amemiya, and they come unpainted from Chuck... or at least they used to....

No ****. Other than knocking off the appearance of the RE Amemiya kit, the only improvement is the Hella 90mm lights... the only part of the kit he had nothing to do with. The hardware, brackets, pods, and other parts of the kit are the cheapest **** he could cobble together and there's an ugly "rumor" that those laying out the extra money for HID kits got ballasts salvaged from wrecked cars for the price of new ballasts...

I've owned damn near every light kit made for the FD at one time or another. Even the $150 ebay kits are better quality than the Rotary Extreme kit, with the exception of the lights included.

Well, I guess it looks like RE Amemiya kit is probably going to be the way for me to go.

As stated earlier I have the carbon version of Rotary E kit. The lights are nice, the carbon is great, but the hardware is ****! This kit was not cheap and you still need to soldier all the connections. Thats just wrong!

I know Chuck in person and hes a good guy. With that said I don't know why he used spring tensioned bolts to position the lamps. I built a kit using the same modules for my miata. Hella supplies adjustment bolts that attach to the bracket with a ball joint. I have alot less bracket then you guys and they rigidly hold the lamps in place. Check what size your bracket holes are beforehand, but you might be able to get some of these to solve your problems.

http://www.rallylights.com/hella/90mm_modules.asp Under accessories "Adjuster Kit"

http://www.rallylights.com/useful_in..._adjusters.htm Adjuster installation with dimensions and instructions.

My personal application (the lamps are attached at 3 points, but stuff is mostly in the way of the third brackets in the pictures):

For someone who built a business on making knock-offs of other vendor's parts, sure.

Oh WOW! I was actually debating which light kit to go with and considered the Rotary Extreme one for sometime, but I'm glad I didn't. I had no idea the quality on his kits were sooo poor. From everything and everyone I've heard it seemed they were extremelly pleased with his kits. I guess they were lying to themselves or don't have a sense of good quality. Either way I'm happy with my decision.

i had one of chucks kits his service was excellent but the kits are far from perfect to get the correct light spread is more than just adjusting the bolts and mine still need final adjustment as the dipped beam need to be as far towards the cntre as possible or the bumper cuts off toomuch light
the re-amemiya is too overpriced and from what i hear the lighting is not all that as for hid u do need projectors to get best light pattern and cut off
as regards copying others thats the way to get good products without having the related development costs and was good commercial sense on chucks part
he has left a gap in the market as a developer and supplier of parts for the 7

Wow, I'm surprised there is that much of a strong opinion of both of these kits. I thought they were very similar, but apparently not. Thanks for all the helpful info though, it's probably what I was looking for.

Some one posted a thread like a month ago on the sleepy look head lights. I believe they got the hid's from an NSX. Try to find that thread. Any way they look AWSOME! Very bright and still have the sleek look to them. Everyone was asking the guy how he fab.ed it up but I don't think he came through with an answer.
