I can't seem to figure this one out, maybe someone will have an idea.
Under medium load, 0-low boost and from about 1700-3000 RPM I get what sounds like a low but loud rattle from what sounds like under the middle of the dash.
Can't hear it from outside the car, and only happens under light to medium throttle. It stops instantly at 3000 RPM.
I've gone through all the turbo operation information in the FSM and the service highlight manual, but I can't put my finger on what it could be.
The noise sounds like it's from right in the middle of the dash, up against the firewall. It's a low, but loud rattle.

I got to thinking that I heard the airpump cuts out at 3000 RPM and under full throttle, but I can't find the reference to that. No idea how the airpump would make this noise, but it was something I thought of because the noise stops exactly at 3k rpm.

 

Noticed today that it really only happens when the car is really warmed up, coolant above 180 degrees.
