Rats nest - 6mm hose?

Hey, I'm going to be digging into the rats nest of my FD here in a few days and I had a quick question. Pretty much I'm having a weird boost problem and i decided the best way to go about fixing it would be to check all the solenoids and valves and actuators as directed in dgeessmans writeup here https://www.rx7club.com/showthread.p...heck+solenoids

I'm ordering everything I need to do so now. Except while I have it all taken apart, I decided i'm going to replace all or most of my vacuum lines in the rats nest. So here's my questions. In all the writeup's it mentions at least two sizes of vac line, usually 4mm and 6mm. I'm wondering which lines are 6mm? are they lines that would probably need to be replaced? I'm asking because it says only 10ft of the 6mm, and its more expensive than the 4mm. So if it's not really necessary I dont want to order the 6mm. I'm ordering all my hose from hosetechniques.com as soon as i find this information out, so I hope someone is familiar enough with the rats nest to help me out. Thanks in advance guys.

You can use 4mm for most of the solenoid rack and vacuum hoses. You're going to need some larger 6mm and 8mm for some of the check valves and pcv system.

The 4mm will handle everything under the UIM. Like Ihor said, there are some other hoses that will require the 6mm but normally those particular hoses are not in bad shape.

There are some 6mm hoses going to and from the TCA but, as stated, I don't think there are any under the UIM. I'd almost be inclined to skip on the 6mm and 8mm hose if I were to do it again (particularly if using Viton) - only the hoses under the UIM really get any abuse.

For me I ordered from Hose Techniques as well and only ordered about 30 ft of the 3.5 mm and 10 ft of the 6mm. That pretty much got me through all the lines that needed to replace but some of the lines might do better with a larger diameter, but not many need it I felt the 6mm was enough. Had to stretch the 6mm to fit it but it works great for me.

Awesome, thanks for the info guys. I actually went ahead and ordered the 6mm hose as well, even though it was $18 for 10ft >.< So i'm just going to replace as much vacuum hose as possible. Thanks.
