It's not that you don't care what other people think. It's that you have no common sense and don't want to listen to reason.
Woah. I'm sorry, but the only chick that would screw a guy because he put ebay headlights on a 16 year old mazda is a 16 year old fanboy.
Your belief that this car is a chick magnet is wrong. It's a dick magnet. Sorry.
Before you get upset because I came off like an ******* you need to realize that you tarnished a small portion of my day by posting those horrific photos. That angered me.

Yeah props to you for doing something different. Sometimes the road less traveled is less traveled for a reason. I still haven't found a better looking headlight then the popups. Yes the Rx-7 is a dude magnet, no doubt......unless it's a CYM, which your car is not.

That's why you're getting these reactions. I honestly can't think of a worse thing to do to the car, aesthetics-wise, aside from slamming it into a tree.

The problem is that you've taken one of the most beautiful cars on the road and made it resemble....... A mutant frog. For no good reason.

Obviously they don't flow like the stock lamps, and they sorta look like bug eyes. Hey, I'm not even trying to defend them aesthetically. Although my reaction to them is far less severe. Even the big wing in the above picture doesn't bother me. Looks like great down force.. Function > Form.
If price were no object these would be close to my last choice among aftermarket headlights, but it very much is, and these were free. I can always get better lights when the money comes.
On another topic: Can anyone tell me where I can get those cool chrome edges for the fenders? Autozone or Wallmart? Oh, and I want to make it so my doors can open upwards like a lambo!

Let's forget that it looks like a frog for a minute. That's kind of irrelevant now.
I was once exactly like this except I owned a civic si at the time. I would make impulse buys like you did just to feel closer to getting at a more perfect car. I once bought an "S2000 style" push button starter for the civic off eBay- never installed it. I understand where you are coming from. Let's get to the real root of the problem:
It was not free. It cost you 200 dollars. Just because that 200 was not in the form of liquid cash, it was still 200 purchasing credits in your ownership. If you spent the gift certificates on something you needed or eventually will need (gifts for other people perhaps), you can allot yourself 200 dollars towards your FD for future "desired" purchases. That's called "budgeting" or "money management". The problem lies in how you perceive money. Don't make the mistake of categorizing your money because of its liquidity and "forcing" purchases due to your categorization.
In addition to my backup rebuild fund of 7k in case the engine craps, I keep an FD purchases fund. I pay a monthly fee towards this fund equivalent to how much a new car payment would be and sometimes extra cash that I find. I use that fund for fixing the car and upgrades. It keeps me from blowing small change on stupid impulse purchases for the FD (read "headlights from Amazon") because I know that there is money already dedicated to the FD. From that fund, I only buy exactly what I want.
I highly recommend this book:

Not to be a hater, but......... ahh **** it.....
Ok those lights look about as good as the paint on your front bumper. I unequivocally like the side with the missing light better... I'm positive cause I've thought about it for at least a minute now. Were you not tipped off by the bargain basement price of 100 bucks? I didn't think it was possible, but I think you took the poor lighting quality of the FD and made the beam pattern WORSE! If I had a civic, I wouldn't install these if they were free, but you paid actual money for this. Anyway, I guess its your car and all so... enjoy the lights ???
