raising boost question
raising boost question
just picked up my fd a few weeks ago, gave it the tlc it needed and im ready to hit a dyno. the car right now is tuned 10 psi. it has a pfc, greddy ebc-intakes-3row frontmount-elbow, koyo radiator, ast, 3" turboback with resonated mid, efini y pipe, rfl bov, 1000cc. do i have everything i need to safely run 13-15 psi? ive heard alot about porting the wastegate and as much as id like to do it i want to avoid it at all cost because its alot of work to do before my dyno apt. also i have the rfl bov coming off the y pipe and it is silent as hell when it blows off? is it because im only running 10psi because i had one of my srt4 and you could hear it from the next town over?. any advice would help. thanks!

If a loud BOV is important to you I would try this site: http://voizer.r8.org/

dont tune for boost pressure.... tune for how much you can go on your current setup. although it is a goal you want.
by all means, re-schedule your appt.
without the wastegate being ported you run the risk of boost creep, in which not even your boost controller can combat it. of course the tune can be made a little on the richer side to help, it wont help much for long.
your BOV being silent is normal. i had the same one on my mother jetta 1.8t and it was louder than stock, but not by much..... SRT-4's around my area that have RFL's are ridiculously loud for no reason.
