Radium FPR-D, Fuel Pressure Regulator-Damper - Anyone have any experience?
I'm about to begin upgrading the fuel system on my FD.
Currently still running on sequentials but want this setup to support moving to an EFR 7670 or 8374 and putting our around 400/450hp.
I've got most parts of the system sorted, Injectors and a secondary fuel rail but I'm now looking at getting an FPR and a FPD for the system along with a new fuel pump.
It's expernsive but the Radium FPR-D, Fuel Pressure Regulator-Damper for $300 looks like it could be perfect for my needs. FPR-D, Fuel Pressure Regulator-Damper
Does anyone have any experience running one, can't find anything on the site about it. Any advice gladly received!
Regarding fuel pumps and thining of going for the Quantum one below. HHeard good things but if anyone would like to suggest a better alternative then please do!
I don't recommend the all in one unit. I recommend this solution. It's much cleaner, works with the Twins in sequential if you prefer. Keeps the FPR on the fuel rail vs having to mount it somewhere else. The Low profile FPD fits right on the primary rail as you can see, and the Bosch Fuel Pressure/Temp sensor sits upside down in the secondary rail. The Radium stuff is some of the best stuff out there for the FD. I'm extremely happy with all of the parts I've purchased from them.

My mechanic is fabricating a secondary fuel rail and sorting out the injectors. Is there anything else I should be replacing / upgrading while I'm at it?
In addition to their primary and secondary rails, I'm using the direct mount regulator and low profile FPD:
20-0177 FPD-XR, 8AN ORB
20-0623-01 DMR, 8AN ORB, Green
And assorted -6an fittings to plumb them together.
Thanks for the info. Based in the UK and still running emmisions. Can get around it, but rather be able to keep it legit of possible.
You can run a catalytic converter with this setup, unless you absolutely must have the airpump and ACV for visual inspection. I have no idea how that works in the UK but in most states (Not California and some other places) here the car must pass the emissions standard for the year it was made, in most cases a catalytic converter alone can do that if the car is otherwise healthy. However - if it doesn't, there is a threshold for repairs to the emissions equipment. Example: Car doesn't pass emissions, you pay at least $450 dollars for emissions repairs which can be Rebuild turbo chargers, rebuild engine, new catalytic converter, new fuel system components etc. They will give you an exemption for a few years. Eventually after the car is passed a certain age they no longer require any emissions.

That was true - at least in Maryland 10 years ago which is one of the more restrictive states. One of the benefits living in the middle of nowhere here in FL, If you have a VIN plate, you get tags and a registration. Even if you never show them the car because you're out of state, you can mail in your bill of sale and title work and get a tag mailed back to you with a VIN verification at a dealership. Sometimes they'll even stamp a new vin for you if you need it (at least at my tax collector). Most of the people around here wouldn't be able to afford a car if there was inspection/emissions requirements. It's very lax here, part of the reason I settled down here after living in the north east US for awhile.
Works a bit differently in the UK. You don't need any kind of MOT or emmisions test once the car reaches 'classic' status in the eyes of the law - think it stands at 1982 currently, increments every year so in a decade it might well be irrelevant unless they update the regs.
Now you've just reminded me of a post on fdoc the UK forum for FD owners. I think given due to its import status there is a loophole I can use. Even though a cat wasn't required, any car which came with one needs it present. I think due to some fuckup with the way imports are handled I might be able to get rid.
The airpump too hopefully. That's only required for emissions at low rpm / on start-up from what I understand.
For what it is worth, I use two of the stand alone Radium fuel pulse dampers, one for each rail, and an Aeromotive FPR. Very happy with the setup and performance. Here you can see my setup with one of the Radium FPDs on the rail and on the right side of the pic, the Aeromotive FPR:
As for the size AN fitting you will need, that depends on your setup (fuel rail sizing). Radium can help with this.
I'm about to do something very similar to my FD. Radium Primary and Secondary, except I'm going to do parallel routing, so I got the recommendation to do dual FPD with a multi-port Radium FPR. Also Going to upgrade from twins to EFR 8374.
One thing I haven't at all figured out is all the line routing, but going to get rid of most of the rats nest at the same time, so should be easier.
