Radiator hose leak

Hello All.

I just bought a highly modded Rx and am a newbie (bad mix) so I am struggling to say the least since my car looks nothing like the manual. I am struggling something horrible.

When I got my rx home I had discovered a coolant leak. I put the car up and found the upper hose had a small drip leak. So I drained the radiator and took out the engine coolant plug. I did this over a week ago and the damn thing is still dripping about a teaspoon a day. Is this normal?

Also I am positive the radiator has been moved so buying the highly recomended pipes from maloy isn't going to work as I dont think they will fit (they are already bent correct?). And people seem to be 50/50 on silicone.

Also my upper and lower hose has a rubber hose coming from the radiator to a piece of metal tubing to another rubber hose. Is this normal or just a half *** job? No wonder it is leaking there is about 10 places for it to leak!

I guess my question is. Where is the best place to get straight hoses which are flexeble and can withstand the heat? It looks as though I will need a diameter of about 1 5/8 inch. I read somewhere that people used 38mm. Any help on size?

Thanks for the help.

Its sounds to me like you have a Front mount intercooler. My greddy 2 row came with instructions to cut the stock pipe and use metal pipe that was included with the kit, that sounds like what you are describing. I went to the parts store and used flexible radiator hose, so far- so good

Yes I used black flex hose. I didn't use the provided aluminum section that came with the fmic. Not a perfect fit, but never had any leaks
