Radiator hose and intake question

Hello all,

First post here and yes I searched just cant find. I bought a modded 93 and am now having trouble finding out why certain things were done.

I have a dual apex'i intake and on one of the intakes the smaller of the 2 openings has a hose attached which runs to the bottom of the car open ended (attached to nothing) Is this correct? SHould it be that way? and what is the purpose of that opening? If there are posts already on this subject please direct me as I would like to read up on it.

I am also having a coolant leak issue already. UGH. Looks as though the collant is leaking from one of the hoses. Looks like I will need 1 5/8 diameter hoses to attach to the fluidyne. Does this sound like the correct length? I am thinking of going with bake precision coolant hoses.

Thanks!

The stock airbox has that same hose running to nowhere. I believe it's to vent excess air pressure.

As in the excess air pressure from the charge relief valve & blow off valve (that both vent into the stock airbox)
