radiator fan switch
hi guys
i know i have seen it somewhere, or maybe someone just told me abut it but i'd like to have a switch (got unused buttons on my gearbox console) to switch the fans on/off manually, obviously i want them to work as they do now but just in case of higher temperature i want to be able to switch them on manually or after hard driving just losk the car and go home but l leave them running for a while to cooll the car down.
do you know if it's difficult? can do it myslef? or should i go to some specialist? maybe i can buy some sort of kit kinda plug and play thing? or if i can do it myself can you please tell me how to...?

Constant threat
There IS the 'fan mod' that a lot of people do, I don't know if the non-U.S. spec cars' ECUs support this though. This mod runs the fans for 10 minutes after shut down.
As for just turning the fans on via a switch, I am not sure it is that easy as...the ECU feedback might be a problem. I am no electrical engineer but I suspect an isolator circuit of some sort might me necessary.
How warm does it actually get in your part of the world? I guess I have it in my head that you would rarely see even 90 degrees F., is that true?

dont know mate, still got the stock coolant gauge so the niddle is in the middle, but 2 weeks ago i took her for a spin, got her up to 160mph(could have done more but was a bit scary driving that fast 
) got back home switched the engine off went upstairs and heard some weirid noise...checked my driveway and saw this white steam coming from under the bonnet...
i have boiled the coolant and the p[ressure was so high that all the rubber hoses just exploded...
since then i'm reallly concerned about driving it that fast so it would be a good idea to just cool it down before i get out the car...

im with mahjik on this one. i've got one of my own and it works just fine, though because the one i chose sets off at a low temp the fans are on pretty much constantly which is a drain on power. i bought mine from summitracing.com and it cost me about 30 usd. and its not too hard to put one in. you are going to want a relay and a fuse to set one up properly.

checked and i will try to get this termoswitch but in the meantime could someone please tell me how to wire/do whatever to have a switch for manual switching my fan on/off?
