Radiator Cooling Panel

I was browsing the Signal website and noticed they sell a Radiator Cooling Panel for the FD. Does anyone have one installed? If so does it offer any functionality, or is it just for looks? Thanks.

Where would you put it on an FD (assuming stock)?

R-Magic also has one. I bought one from JT imports for $170.00. Worth it even though I have an ASP IC large. It's designed for front mount.

Thanks for the input. Anyone else have one?

Well, I have one.. .kind of..

I have greddy fmic, fluidyne rad.

I got it because I wanted to block off the air so that it will go thru the radiator.. I been running the fans all the time.. otherwise, temp increase..

I got my cover march-april this year.. weather was still pretty cool.. Seems to work ok.. but.. since outside temps higher.. I been having issues..

I notice even with my fans on, i was hitting 95-97.. without, i was close to 100..

what was happening was that I was drawing air after the IC and its pre-heated air.. also, the air coming off the ic maxes out after you hit certain speed..

Unlike some people, I have full 99 under carriage so only source of air is from the IC..

I realize this and removed my radiator plate.. problem solved.. Now the air from IC is escaping thru the space between IC and rad.. and now I'm pulling cooler air..

Good info! Thanks Herblenny, I hadn't thought of that possibly being an issue.

I didn't either.. I had a conversation with SPOautos about 4-5 months ago regarding Nascar radiators.. he spoke to one of the designer and the designer told SPO that one of the most restrictive (aero wise) was the radiator.. I wasn't really sure why.. than I remember my Physics class.. and all made sense.. I remember something about a piece of pipe and its max flow rate.. no matter how fast the outer air speed was, you will eventurally hit its max flow inside the tube.. And the front mount acts the same.. It doesn't matter how fast I go, I'll hit that limit.. I think its around 20-30 some MPH.. so, after that, its not that effective.. So, after my IC, I would see 20-30 MPH and then it has to go thru the radiator.. so, there is the problem.. and my fan is pulling hot air between the IC and the rad..
