Question Rad fans only work when AC is on?

The car I have was taken to california, had the freeon type converted, and when I bought the car and took it to arizona with me, the ac was just not enough. I took it to this shop and had them convert it back. A few months later I realize that my radiator fans only come online when the ac compressor is turned on. Where could I look to find and fix this problem? Also, my ac is very loud and quite annoying. It makes a high pitched buzzing noise when the ac is on. any other people have this problem or know of a fix? Thank you!

Most likely a problem with one of the relays behind the passenger headlight. The buzzing is probably the blower motor.

buzzing from the engine bay like the compressor is making it? how hot was the car when you checked the fans to turn on?

Yeah the noise is definately coming from the engine bay and i believe the compressor is making it. It only started making this noise after i took it to the shop to have the freeon type converted. I dont have a real temp gauge yet but the car only gets hot after idling for a long time. does fine during regular driving.

For future searches..
Well the problem with my fans only coming on when the a/c was on has been fixed.
After I installed my pfc I no longer had the problem. Not the most convenient fix for someone but im sure it would help narrow down the problem?

Im still open to comments about the buzzing from the a/c compressor? that **** is annoying!!

It may be the sound of the compressor grinding itself to dust. What exactly did the shop do to "convert" the system?

rattling can be to high pressure,(common when people convert r12 to 134) compressor going out, bearing going bad etc.
