Wrap the downpipe And mid pip w/ 2 layers of Thermo-Tec (oe equal) header wrap - should help reduce the sound - I run a sreet port motor w/ a wrapped M-2 downpipe, stock cat and RB dual tip and the car is very quite at idle. and very plesant crusing down the highway. maybe you need to sell me your race ported motor and get yourself a stock port reman

Your RB cat back could be defective. "hyeprion" on the forum had a RB Dual CB that he returned to RB because it was too loud. BTW, he was running it with a DP and a HF cat.

RB took care of him and things are all good now.

How much you want for that exhaust? I have a stock exhaust in pretty good shape in my garage, I'm in Pasadena.

I don't know exactly, but it was way louder than my HKS CB when we tested and swapped CB's. PM Hyperion, he could give you all the info.

Agreed, it's dumb enough that it should be put in the lounge...

Well...this may sound wierd but here me out. Before I went for a full 3 inch exhaust on my car, when I had stock twins, I had a high-flow cat. When I had the cat my car was louder, I promise, and also to back that up with another source, Bryan at rotorsports racing said the same thing. On his shop car he had a high-flow cat and the RB dual like mine on stock turbos his was noticably louder than mine with the mid pipe when I converted. So maybe there is something to be said in this story of how a car could be loud with a RB exhaust. It is counter intuitive to say that the car will be quieter with a midpipe but maybe the muffling characteristics of the exhaust are made for as much breathing ability as possible. Bear in mind this is without the raceport, SO...this could just be nonapplicable or just my bad subjective analysis.

Also, on another note, I do think that the kid is possibly just thinking about the **** WAY to much. If he is going to revert to a stock exhaust over a high-flow with a race port. What a weirdo! No offense but if it offended you that much then why did you buy the damn car with a race port? A stock exhaust? Are you out of your mind. Buck up and get used to it! This is not a car that worries what others think, it is a car that performs best without a stock exhaust.

Ok.... first of all...... I'm not a KID...... 24 years old kid???? hmmmm.....

Anyways... I bought the car with a race port to begin with and I'm not a newbee with this car... its my second FD and I do know the firm basics of the rotary motors. I don't know how much performance you guys want to push on this small little motor but for me I think this car has enough performance as it is.
Let me tell you a little history about this car......
When I got my second FD it had a race ported motor, HKS full intake system ($700 or whatever that expensive **** is), HKS downpipe, and a HKS Carbon Ti Exhaust.... While I was driving around I hated the exhaust tone of the FD with the carbon Ti.... way too loud...... I don't want this car to sound like some riced out CRX.... so.... I bought the RB dual because everyone told me this exhaust sounds the quietest..... well..................... man... that was Bullshit....

I'm not hear to debate about who is a weirdo because he has a stock exhaust on a race ported motor.... I'm here to get advice and learn from it what I should do next for modifications.

I seen some FD owners gutt their stock cat, make homemade downpipes, and paint thier calipers blue on a red car.... but who cares??? Its their cars... thier prefrence... and they are proud of it!!!!!

Give a helping hand sometimes because one day you will need one too ya know....

anyways.... my 2 cents...
