Try an insurance company that will write a policy at agreed values for collector/modified vehicles and have it stated in the policy that you've removed the airbag from the car. They may even inspect it and document it for you. Problem solved. I still use progressive, but I understand many people with Hagerty do this.

It is the owner’s choice as long as they take ownership of risk. Just like my enjoyment of the occasional cigar.
But the argument they don’t make you “feel safe” or that since there aren’t a half-dozen bags per occupant having none won’t matter is just rationalization. If your srs light isn’t blinking at you while driving it’s likely the system is functional.

this. insurance will find any way to deny your claim plain and simple. I've kissed a steering wheel before, 13 stitches later and I'm pretty again, had an airbag get me too. left some minor burns. both sucked, but the airbag was the lesser of 2 evils. try and find a aesthetically pleasing one that has an airbag.
