What does a steering wheel spacer do?
I hear people talk about getting a smaller steering wheel and a wheel spacer for more room in their car, but what exactly does a steering wheel spacer do?
All it does is extend the steering wheel further into the car. It is primarily good for tall people with long legs so that the steering wheel will be in a more comfortable position. Sort of like what a telescoping steering wheel will do except it is not adjustable.
Yup, that's pretty much it, but there are also spacers that are adjustable and convert the wheels to be somewhat a manual tilt steering. Of course they are way too much in to warrant their practicality of usage.
