Odd, maximum acceleration is typically attained at approximately 10% wheel slip.

So how would it work if you use direct port NOS? Would it missfire properly or would the NOS still ignite causing a lean condition? I only ask because I'm installing that too.
Nitrous oxide will not ignite by itself. The extra oxygen it provides burns with additional fuel which must be injected to compensate. If you are using a "wet" nitrous sytem (fuel and nitrous injected through the same jets) then you've got a problem, because you will get combustion even if the pulse for the inector is cut on that cycle.

Bottom line, you shouldn't be using nitrous in any application that would require traction control. Nitrous is for the drag strip.

sszablya - how did you hook up the clutch engage/disengage switch for your full throttle shifting and what kind of switch did you use for it?

That was the easiest part - I T'd the cruise control release switch. I forget if the TC prefers a normally closed or open switch for the trigger, but whichever it is, it was right inline with the RX7 clutch switch.

Thanks sszablya, that should make things a lot easier provided the switch and wires are still there. The mods done before I bought it required the cruise control to be taken out. Hopefully they didn't pull out the switch/wires too.

jimlab - thanks for the info on the NOS. It will be for the drag strip but I will also be using launch control. My kit is a dry kit so I should be able to use them both w/o a problem.

This forum rocks!

Hi Jim,

If the 10% sliping percentage is the best, what kind of percentage setting should we set the RaceLogic? I would think 13-15%, so when the wheels slip too much (13-15%), the TC cuts in and reduce the slip to ~10%? Please educate me about this.

The racelogic is so precise that if you set it at 10% it'll start working at 10.01% slip.

this is such a relief. Hedgehog and I were discussing the "possible waste of money" issue just recently. Both of our cars are in the progress of being put back together with single's so neither could offer the other any reassurance..haha
Can't wait to get it installed!!

Since i could not find any help searching on the topic...and you all are on this thread, i figure i give it a shot!!!

I am in the middle of installing my RL TC and need to know what you guys used as the main, fused power source, meaning, wire color and location, also, my kit did not come with the clutch wire, which i guess i will just have to make up, but is it an option and needs to be popped into the main RL loom plug like the Injector set-up??? And what wire did you guys use on the clutch switch? I have no power to the car so i cant test continuity...

One more, for those of you that have the digital adjuster, did you just unclip/redirect the red wire from the main unit to the adjuster and just used it to connect to the main power?
