r1 w/ jdm motor swap something doesnt add up

i have a 93 r1 model with a jdm motor new us wiring harness and ecu... everything is together and most of the clip fits except for some. i was told it goes into the little black box and that i need to replace it for a later model solenoid rack with solenoids but so far no one has had any luck tracking any thing down. is there something else missing?

I think you have mis read my previous post on your other thread.

Please read carefully and let it sink in. You have a late JDM model engine, so you need to replace your rats nest, your coil packs, emissions plate and prob a few other things too. You must obtain these from an earlier model engine!!

You should have just gone and bought a complete blown engine rather than spending $1200 on a new harness. That way you would have everything you need. and a spare parts engine, all for less than what your new harness cost you.

P.S. there was no need to start a new thread on this one, you should have kept the old one going.

I've gota complete silinoid rack and a bunch of the silinoids. They are all good. I just bought all new ones, and then decided to delete the whole system.

You need the 93-95 engine harness connectors if you want to use the 93-95 rats nest solenoids!!

He has a US 93-95 harness, but a later year engine/components.

Ok ok... So you have a later model JDM motor, S6 US spec harness. Do you have the S6 motor that was in the vehicle? Couldn't you just swap the S6 manifolds sensors solenoids and all the stuff that was onto the S6 motor onto the S7 or S8 whichever you have so you could use your current harness?

I don't want to put words in his mouth... But... From what I gather from his two threads, he bought a roller with no engine (and possibly no transmission). He purchased a used JDM driveline which came from a later model RX7. However, he purchased a *new* US harness for the whole project.

So basically, he needs US components to change out the latter year JDM components for his very new but very expensive US harness.

Send a PM to "Fritz Flynn" here on the forum. Tell him what you are looking for and see what he has laying around.

... Ouch, well now it makes sense. Why didn't you order the correct series motor from the start? What made you decide to order a later series motor? I have the stock IC, intake tubes, elbow, ic plastic tubes, and believe I have the solenoid rack laying around and believe other sensors to.
