r1/r2 2nd oil cooler vs single larger

I'm have/planning mainly boltons and a street port for my rx7 running 5-15 lapping day events yearly, plus other driving.

What will work better, Will the r1/r2 2nd oil cooler fit my needs, or should I look to getting a 36 row earls single cooler?

Also, are there any fitment issues putting the r1 passenger one on with a pettit cai?

Thanks
Jeff

The R1/R2 setup is ideal. You won't have any mounting problems with Pettit intake. Now all you have to do is find a spare r1 oil cooler.

What about?

http://www.rotaryextreme.com/oilcooler.html

I need better pics. Will the cooler mount in the side opening or the center?

Later, Jeff

The larger one will mount in driver side opening, that's why the recommend a front bumper with larger openings to benefit from the larger cooler. The pic makes it look like it goes in the center. It doesn't.

im4u, you can't post the name of that store on this forum. Just letting you know why it doesn't show up in your post.

It doesn't make much sense to get a 36 row if you still have the stock front end. I doubt it would be much more of an improvement over the 19 row. I would suggest the Crooked Willow Kit or the dual 25 row that rotary extreme makes.

Does any one else sell the Crooked Willow kit or is it something you can only get from them? Just trying to get the best price. Of course it is about what I was expecting to pay for it.

I can't find any oil coolers at the rx7 store...what about using a B&M racing trans cooler as an oil cooler (with thermostat)?

Don't use the B&M.

Goto Pegasus Racing and get Oil Cooler 5.75" high, 12AN Fittings, 19 row 1210-19-12A Price: 135.88 .

Use 18mmx1.5 to 12AN ringed fittings, your choice of hose, and the MOCAL Oil thermostat. While you're doing this, why not block off your current oil filter and run a remote filter? And if you're going to do that, add pressure and temperature fittings. You can do all that for less than anyone elses single oil cooler upgrade.

The BEST part of the Crooked Willow kit is the FANTASTIC Carbon fiber ducts that are included - they seal tight to the coolers (much better than the stock ducts to the stock coolers) and are easily worth $150- ea.
MARIAH told me the could not duplicate the kit (w/ ducts) at any where near the CWR price.
