R1 oil coolers install help plz

I've search but I found no answers on this.

So I removed my single oil cooler and both line the line from the oil filter that snakes down to the power steering was a pain in the *** to remove.

Anyways I got it off finally and was gonna install the dual r1 oil coolers but how to I snake that top hose back up the way from the power steering pump?

Do I have to remove the power steering pump or something else to get that line in that tight spot?

Any help would be great I'm stuck with this

You're gonna hate this answer.

The line from the oil filter pedestal that snakes down is the same on single cooler models as it is on dual. You didn't have to pull that off.

Yup, everything from the motor to the driver side cooler remain the same, only the line going from the front cover to the passenger cooler and the line in between the coolers are different.

i definitely cringed when i read that the oil filter line was removed. that sucks. just like everyone else is saying, that line is the same between the two set ups. the different lines is the one coming off the front iron and the attached assembly of course.

if you removed the line then yes. as far as i know, the only way to get that line out is to dissemble/remove the ps/ac bracket.

Removing the PS pump is pretty easy. There is one hidden bolt that always catches me out so check your manual to make sure you know where they all are. I also found this helped when I was plumbing up the dual coolers for the first time.

Nice Diagram. Will be doing dual oil coolers as well, so that is a simple yet effective representation!

If you're just adding the RH side cooler you shouldn't need to remove that line. All you should need to do is reroute the oil feed to your current one over to the new cooler and then back to the LH cooler.

Since you already have, maybe just make an aftermarket line with braided hose? Your oil cooler thread should be M22x1.5. I'm unsure about the Filter housing

I did think of doing this also, should be way cheaper.

Anyone know what the thread for the hose that connects to the oil cooler is? I would only need one line.

The one that goes to the oil filter housing

Just want to give a big thanks for all the guys on this forum for helping me out, I purchased -10an lines and all fittings to fix the hose I took out so I don't have to remove the power steering pump or ac stuff..

Just waiting for my hose and the copper washers for the 22mm fitting. And she will be back running, you guys just saved me over $300 bucks

I recall having to work the stock R1 oil lines in from one direction. I think it was from the drivers side to the passenger side. I was a real pain in the a** getting it in but after a couple hours I managed to work it in without removing the power steering pump. It just took patience.

Are you sure thats true? I just bought a stock dual oil cooler kit from a forum member, and my stock line from the oil filter area is threaded (left side of picture) and the dual oil cooler line is not. Am I missing something?

Is your car an automatic? That might be a trans-cooler line.
