R1 lip on 99 front???

I don't think it would look right. IMO, the R1/R2 lips belong on the '93 - '95 cars. And I don't think it would even fit properly. Retrofitting a '99 lip onto the earlier cars necessitates drilling a couple extra holes in the front bumper cover.

I don't like the way the 99 lip sticks out on the sides. IMO the R1 lip looks better. I'm not worried about the price. I've just heard that the 99 spec has fitment issues on the 93-95 fronts and I was just wondering if anybody has tried it the other way around.
I have a 99 front coming and I'll be needed a lip soon. I might just find out the hard way...
Oh yeah, I don't prefer fat chicks either... (I've never had one but please nobody say "don't knock it until you try it" - I only way 140lbs!)

the 99 lip was obviously intended for the 99 bumper so it wont stick out like it does on the 93-95 bumpers. The issue you might have with attaching an R1 lip to an 99 bumper is its slightly too small, if the mounting points do line up
that and it wont look right at all

Agent - I'm not sure the R1 lip will be long enough on the sides...93-95 bumpers with 99 lip have excess "lip" on the sides (closest to wheels...make sense?).
So, that's why I figure the 99 bumper is bigger it that respect and the R1 lip will just be too short.
If you want to find out for yourself, the holes will line up for the most part.

If it's not long enough you could always make a extender piece to fit between the two pieces of the R1 lip, however i doubt that the R1 lip will look right with the 99 spec bumper. The 93-95 have rounded lines in the nose where as the 99 has sharper angeled lines.

I guess when my bumper is delivered, I'll order both lips and see. I'll just sell the one I don't use. From the fitment issues that people have on the 99 lip to 93-95 bumper, I was afraid that it wouldn't work the other way around. I thought surely that someone had tried it though...
