R1 going wrong

I have some problems with my R1

It blows white smoke in the start and also at WOT with out any load in N

I´t leaks coolant out of the reservior tank at idle and also a little when driving

The first turbo doesn´t seem to build boost, the second one comes in at 4k.

The boost patern is 5-10 psi

I have bigger intercooler, bov, 3" turbo back.
HKS fuel cut defender.

Any ideas?

The white smoke and loss of coolant out of the reservoir are signs of a blown coolant seal. Did you just purchase this car? How long have you had this problem? How much experience do you have with rotary engines? We need more information.

As for the turbo problem, I would be checking the CCV function.

Do you have any sort of fuel management or are you on the stock ecu?

You don't need to be worrying about boost issue's till you get the coolant thing taken care of or your bost issue could turn into "I made the motor junk by boosting it before I could cool it"

i have some experience with roatary i owned a Turbo II for some time and i have worked both on the fd3s and the rx8

I just got the car yes

It´s on stock ECU and has a HKS fuel cut defender.

i don´t know how long this problem has been,

my worries are not on the turbo´s they´re leaking oil ans have probably gone bad.

i made a small test by butting the hose from the AST to the ower flow tank into a bottle with water and bubbles came so

my first quies whas blown coolant seals, my second was the cap´s, i haven´t replaced them yeat.

The smoke at WOT is from the turbo´s it´s burned oil. But at start up there comes white smoke sometimes alot.

You can certainly try to replace the caps to resolve some of the loss you are experiencing and prevent air from getting into the system, but it does not explain why you are getting heavy white smoke on start-up. You should pressure test the coolant system and also do the champagne bubble test--look for bubbles in the fill neck when the motor is running. If you have bubbles then you have almost certainly blown a coolant seal in the block.

Heavey white smoke at startup sure does point to coolling system o-ring failure. The only way your not going to have air from the AST to the recovery tank is for the system to be free of air and coolant to be in the tube going from the AST to the recovery tank. The air bubbles you should be looking for will be in the filler neck.

i did a pressure test and it´s looks as the caps are not good.

I drove 150 miles without stopping and id did not leak, the coolant warning light
came and whent a few times.

And when i was driving down hill and was at WOT at 2500 rpm there came as donk sound and the first turbo came in, at 10 psi and the second held 10 psi also, but under some load at WOT it boosted 5 psi and the second 8 psi?

there is no coolant in the oil or oil in the coolant.

I´m going to do a compression test and putting a aluminum AST and new caps to see if that works, but i think its the coolant seals.

how much compression difference can be between chambers?

In the N/A 2 gen there can be a 21psi difference is it the same on the 3 gen?

[QUOTE=Ice_Mazda;6972829]i did a pressure test and it´s looks as the caps are not good.[QUOTE]

That may be one problem that needed to be addressed

Like others have said, you need to resolve the problem with the cooling system before you start worrying about the turbos. In that regard, I still think you need to look at the CCV (charge control valve)

You really need to do the champagne bubble test at this point to see if you have a coolant seal problem. Compression may be one thing, but if you have a blown coolant seal the engine will require a rebuild regardless of whether the compression is good.

How does that work?

After the engine has cooled, remove the cap on the filler neck, start the engine and then look down into the filler neck to see if you see any bubbles rising up in the coolant. You may need a flash light depending on the lighting. Coolant will not start to overflow until the engine gets fairly hot.

They usually look the way champagne bubbles rise in a glass, hence, the name--"champagne bubble test".
