Go to your local car dealer. Ask one of their finance managers what warranties he has available for your car. They don't have to sell you a car to sell you a warranty. They should have some available that will cover you to 100,000 miles.
Becareful about these warranties. I bought and cancelled one after they wouldn't pay for a repair. They said that the part had to be explicitly listed on the parts list that they will cover.
I noticed that they said "pistons" in the "WHAT IS COVERED" section. Our engines don't have a lot of what is listed in most warrantys.
My suggestion is to call the warranty co. and ask them if they cover rx7's bumper to bumper.
I think you should definitly get one, just be careful.

I paid less than $800 for mine 2 years ago. It was for 3year/36,000miles w/ a $50 deductable and basically the same coverage as what you quoted. It was from www.warrantybynet.com but they don't cover FD's anymore....Let's see, they paid for 1) Reman motor 2) Tranny 3) Engine Mount 4) A/C Compressor and recharge, and I still have 1year/26,000miles left on it

I totally disagree. Those prices are decent for a $100/visit deductible. I've never heard of a company offering an extended warranty on a USED car for $450.

No modding allowed.
Also, you should get what they call an exclusionary warranty. Basically, it says they cover everything except this list of things. The list usually includes wear parts like clutches, brake pads....
The other style will say what they will cover, which leaves them an out. Lets say they don't cover the fuel pump but they do cover your motor. Then your fuel pump goes out and your motor blows because of it. You're not covered. Bunch of BS.
Best thing to do is go to your local dealer and talk to the finance manager like Lost Time said. Remember though, they typically mark up the warranty 100% from their cost. But they'll sell it to you for $200 over if you bargain with them. Best thing to do is just call around.

I am a Finance Manager, and really the price for 2 years is pretty decent, however for 1 year I could get you one for $700 most likely, depends on the year and mileage of your car. Im not in CA anymore though, im back in Washington. These are NOT warranties, they are extended service contracts. Most of the ESC companies I have dealt with have been pretty good about taking care of covered repairs, however they are in business to make money, and stick by what they say in the contract. If your car has some basic mods, I am sure they would cover it, if you have a upgraded fuel, intercooler, single turbo etc. it might be a problem getting it covered. You can get your car repaired at any ASE certified mechanic, if the problem was caused by a covered component then any honest mechanic is going to call up the ESC company, tell them what needs to be done and get it approved, then you just pay your deductible.
Hey Icemastr (or anybody else) any recommendations for warranty companies for FDs? I bought my car with an extended warranty, I think the guy paid $2400 for the warranty. If I were to end it now, will I get any money back? Then maybe I can find a cheaper alternative.
Remember, NO MODS...not even rims(or as they call it oversized wheels or tires). If you put on bolt-ons, just put the car back to bone stock before you take it in. Look out for the inspector too.
My favorite company to use is Autogard, you could try doing a search on the Internet for it, although I dont know if they sell direct to consumers. If you have an Extended Service Contract you can cancel it and receive a credit for the amount unused. This is a trick to use when someone is trading in their car, if they have say 3years left in their esc out of 6, and they paid $1,000, I tell them to cancel the ESC and they can apply the $500 towards their down payment, to get more money down. If you dont cancel your ESC when trading in a vehicle, the dealership cancels it and keeps the money anyways. Oops shouldnt have let that secret out
warranty
this mite b an obvious question... but if ur gettin a warrany from somethin like warrantybynet or other online warranties, how do they know ur car is modded? if u take it 2 a repair facility that works on fds...and they know u, i highly doubt they're gonna blow up ur spot like that.
do the online warranty companies actually send out inspectors 2 c ur car?
the other thing is...ive looked all over online for someone to warranty rx7s. there's 2 probs w/ it
1) most warrany companies wont take cars before 1995... so that pretty much leaves u out in the open in most cases
2) every single one ive seen so far says clearly either a) "we do not offer coverage to the following vehicles.." and lists the fd along w/ other twin turbo cars, or they flat out say "we do not cover twin turbo vehicles."
if anyone does find a company that'll take fds... from say...94 and up =)
PLZ lemme know.

Most warranty companies do not sell to cars 10 years or older or with greater than 100K miles.
Last, it's hard to find one that will give you anything but the basic warranty plan for the FD. A lot say no twin turbo and a lot say no rotaries, good luck finding one that says yes to both. My company is WAP(Warranty Auto Plus), and I think they go through WarrantyByNet. But my policy was purchased over 3 years ago and I think they've since changed their policy to not include FDs.
Good luck
