quick question about pulley tensioner
I recently replaced my crank pulley with an unorthadox pulley and new belts. When i went to crank down the accessory tensioner (air cond. and ps) i noticed that the housing that the bolt goes into was stirpped really bad. (You can run the bolt right though the housing). The reverse thread part that goes into the tensioner is fine, but the part that screws into the housing is stripped. That makes it impossible to use the housing to tighten the tensioner down.
Heres what i did, do you think this will work? I screwed the reverse threaded part of the bolt into the tensioner all the way, pushed the bolt down flush with the housing so the tensioner was tight on the belts, then cranked the bolt in the center of the tensioner down nice and tight. It holds so far and seems like it will not move. What do you guys think? Will it hold alright?
i know this may sound confusing, if needed, i can post pics to show you exactly what i am talking about.

My advice is to replace the adjustment bolt and the pulley spindle it screws down into. I just had the same problem, the 2 pieces aren't expensive enough to chance it. I rigged mine up to stay until my parts came, didn't have any problems. Like I said though, why chance it.
