Lightbulb Gotham Racing P/S bypass kit????

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...o/PS20Elim.jpg

I am in the process of removing my P/S for my FD and was looking at the P/S bypass kit from (Gothamracing), and looks pretty damn simple to me.

I was thinking of making my own
Has anyone tried making their own kit???, if so what hardware did you use, supplies??

Here is what it should look like with the gotham kit on.

If you're going to remove the power steering, you should do it right and get the rack converted to manual operation by Maval Gear.

I made my own. I went to home depot, and bought 2 of those adapters and at auto zone i bought 10 inches of 3/8 hose and that's it. I took the screw that screws into the Rack and found the right threaded adapter. Cost me 6 bucks all.

Does the hose have to be for power steering or does it matter??

I will remove my screws tomorrow to find sizes for adapters
Thanks for all the feedback.

hose does not need to be a high pressure hose since you are removing the pump. Also when you have the pipes/hose out of the way, turn your wheels back and forth a few times to purge some of the left over fluid out of the rack. This will lesson the effort since you are pushing and pulling air via a piston inside the rack. All that the hose is there for is to give the pistons in the rack a place to displace the air or leftover oil.

I went to a hydrauilc shop and picked up the adapter that fit in the pinion and a section of hose. Since i was never going back to p/s, I cut the stock hose from the pump where it has the BANJO fitting on the pinion. I cut the hard line of the banjo and just slid the hose onto that and then to the adapter...whew did i lose you in that?

PM me your email address and i can send you some pics of mine. Gotham's is nice but you can do it yourself for way less than half. You will LOVE not having p/s. It was the best thing i have done in a long while. Took me about 1 week of driving to get completely used to the feel. But i absolutley love it .Waay more feel of the road and what your tires are doing.. I didn't know my tires were talking to me that much.

for the record, if you have the time to have mavel gear transform it DO IT. I am going that route when my car gets to the mainland and i have more time available.

Baker Precision

http://www.bakerprecision.com/earls6.htm

I found these hoses and fittings @ Baker and they have everything I need to make this bypass for my power steering.
I removed my hoses and will take these to baker to get the exact thread measurements and about 10 inches of hose. I will use the same end with the banjo fitting that goes into the rack.
