quick question about ACT clutch...

well i did search and didnt come up with an answer to totally answer my question...which is, i bought an ACT SS clutch but it was only the pressure plate and clutch disk. Will buying the stock -Throw-out bearing (release bearing) and Pilot bearing be ok or was there upgraded parts to come with the ACT Clutch thats ment to handle the higher performance clutches. I already know to buy a new clutch fork but want to know if ill be ok using an oem throw out and pilot bearings. THanks

use the stock needle, and throwout bearings, but know this, if u take a long distance trip with an act clutch, it can and will excessively heat up ur throwout bearing...this is because the act clutch is copper and transmits heat away from the clutch, it supposed to do this. but during a long trip that heat soaks into the bearings. Over time this will cause bearing failure to mostly the throw bearing, when i say long trip i mean like 250 miles or more each way on a very hot day, say 85 +...just a tid bit, happened to me

Mmmmm. I've had the ACT SS clutch in my car for about 1. 5 years. Absolutely no issues and I've driven several such trips in the summer. As a matter of fact, I just finished one. I've never heard of this.

ACT street strip clutch isn't copper.

The throwout bearing isn't touching anything when the clutch isn't pushed in so even if the clutch was copper it wouldn't really conduct more heat to the throwout bearing.

I've never heard of this before.

No bearings came with my ACT clutch/pressure plate package and AFAIK, ACT didn't offer one. I used the Mazda bearings. The PP is presumably a bit stiffer, but I doubt enough that it would require anything more than the stock TO bearing.
