quick Q about jdm motor

ok im thinking about getting a jdm motor with trans form ebay i was wondering if there is anything special i have to do to make it work and does anyone have experence with these motors

short block, nothing special
long block 92-95, nothing special
long block 96+, forget it, it won't work

You are essentially buying a complete unknown motor...much better to rebuild or buy a reman IMO.

Exactly. Some are in excellent shape, some need rebuilding.
