Quick fuel rail question!

I am putting my injectors back in, and every time I pressurize the fuel system the bolt on the front end of the secondary fuel rail keeps spraying fuel! I have tried everything, the shop manual doesn't explain any special method of screwing it in...? WTF?

Don't forget to lube the o-rings with oil before installing the injector.

NEVERMIND OMG, this is pissing me off. First when I pressurized the fuel system it would constantly spray fuel. Now it just sprays fuel for a second then stops. Is there something I am missing here? Been working for 4 hours now just to replace the injectors. Everything is going wrong, including the dreaded bolt down the Y-pipe (got it though).....I give up for today. Any technique, tricks, etc involved with the fuel system would be appreciated.

Thanks

Deep breath and a shop manual. I'd take a break and start over. Just take your time and go one step at a time.

As for the fuel spraying out, it sounds like you're priming the pump and the leak in the rail is releasing the pressure. I'm not too sure why it was constantly doing it at first and is just doing a little now.. Kinda sounds like you had a lot of pressure building initially.. Battery going maybe?

I'm assuming you have a stock secondary rail.

The washers you are refering to are copper, are they not? They should be. It is important that they are the exact ones you removed from the rail, or the exact same size. Any difference in size will probably cause a leak.

One washer should be between the rail and the fuel line fitting, the other between the banjo bolt and the fitting. Hold the fuel rail with a crescent wrench, but DO NOT TWIST IT, this is just to hold it still. Thread the banjo bolt in carefully (it is a bitch to get it past the metal hardpipes without cross-threading) and tighten snugly with a 17mm wrench.

Okay, I put the two washers where I believe they are supposed to be. One in between the rail and the fuel line connector, the other between the banjo nut and the fuel connector. It is doing the same thing, as soon and a grnd + F/P turn on the key it shoots gas for like 3 seconds from around the washer in between the rail itself and the fuel connector. After that it stops. I obviously can't have that every time my car starts. What is happening?
