Thinking of the Corbeau CR1's myself (http://www.racing-seats-usa.com/racingseats1.html). These look to have a slightly wider dimension for the rib-cage (this area always pinches my large torso in the racing seats I've tested), but otherwise similar to the A4's. $700 or $600 per pair, respectively - very reasonable and they recline! Add microsuede for $100 or leather for $400 more. Few other options like lumbar support and 5-point harness slots for a little extra. They sell rails for the FD at $100 per side but I actually need a smidge more head room than stock. I'm not sure if the oem rails would work with these seats.

I'm slightly taller than you (6' 2") but my torso is long for my height and though not a fatty, I am a bigger dude (220 lbs). I've always got my stock seats pegged all the way back, but still need to recline them more than I'd like for a comfortable head fit, particularly with a helmut on. I'm thinking I would try to make an "all-the-way back fixed bracket" and hopefully drop the seat an inch or two. Anybody ever done this on their FD? How did it work out?

Yeah I was thinking about those seats...I was wondering about head room...im almost as tall as you (you are prob 1/2 taller) and I weigh around 190 lbs, so the difference in the CR1s and A4s is larger torso does this cus it to rub? does anyone know for sure if the A4 wide rub? and I have heard that the A4 sit about 1 or 2 inches higher...I cant have this as I am tall and I have a big *** melon so my helmet is no joke...do you know how the CR1s head room is?

I don't know nothin' about the wide versions. But Mahjik says A4 and CR1's (standard versions I assume) will fit. Here's the dimensional figures from that website:

They're cheap compared to Reacros

because I cant get the BrixII like I had hoped
Yea I know for a fact that the Brix II's don't fit in FDs. Keep in mind, however, that you can always take down the cover and trim the bolster area a bit to fit, if it's not off by much...

If you order the seats directly from Corbeau, you can request to have some foam removed to lower the seat a little. As mentioned before, its the mounting which mainly determines how much higher you sit. Using some of the "Super Low" rails from other companies will help in that area.

Email me for all inquiries. Info@FDNewbieImports.com. Put "Bride seats order" in the subject line to I can keep an eye out for it. Put the brand of seat & color, options, rail, etc that you want, and I'll get ya a price quote.

Thanks,
~Ramy

I have Sparco Evo2, but will have to modify the door panel and center console in order to fit.

Peace

afgmoto 1978-What all do you mean by modify? Those were the seats I had in my 240sx and I LOVED them. And did you have to make custom mounting brackets?

The Sparco Roadster II is as close as you will ever get to the OEM Recaro RZ seats as you'll ever get, from design, sight and fitment.

Too bad you'll need to fab your own brackets.

Haven't mounted them yet, but from my measurements I will need to trim the upper corner of the door panel in order for the seat bolstering lateral support ear to fit and I will need to trim the center console trim line to fit thigh support bolstering. Don't know if I will be able to utilize the stock rails with the custom seat mount brackets I will be making, depends on the headroom I have with a helmet on. I will post the install on here when I'm done.

And yeah Evo2s kick ***.

Anyone know if Recaro Pole position will fit? I want to find out what are the cheapest Bride or Recarco seats that fit.

And does anyone know if pole position's are comfortable?

It's not Recardo, it's Recaro. The absolute largest seat that will fit in an FD without modification, according to what I've read on here, is the Sparco Torino. If you go to Sparco's site and look up the dimensions of this seat, you can pretty much tell if another seat, when compared to the Torino's dimensions, will fit. There is a pretty huge thread on seats in the interior/exterior/audio section that you can look through for ideas. Some cheaper seats that still look good are the MemoryFab's (www.memoryfab.com) and F1Spec Racing (www.f1spec.com) carbon fiber racing seats. F1Spec have two different versions of a regular race seat and they've also come out with a copy of the Bride seat, all of which are fairly priced, especially for carbon fiber. If you need something that's even cheaper, they have versions of these seats in fiberglass instead. It's a good option if you're not worried about brand names and just want something that fits and looks good.

No, the bottom portion of the seats are designed for regular cars (IE: Honda Civic's, Acura Integra's, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions, Subaru Impreza WRX...) and not cars with a tight interior such as an RX-7.

pretty much, if it is not a racing seat, it will not fit
