I finished another round of service last night on the car which included a GReddy oil filter pedestal for oil temp gauge sender. To do this, I reversed my TPS (180 degrees) as suggested by another club member who said it worked fine. Well it didn't for me.

1) I can't adjust the TPS properly, any setting besides all the way back yields too high an idle and my CEL comes on for both high and low values. Has anyone successfully done this or is it just a pipe dream?

2) The fast idle screw wants to occupy the same space as my oil filter now. In all the posts about people using this oil filter housing, noone's mentioned this problem.

you didn't put it on properly... it took me a few tries too.

make sure the little tabs are engaged in the TPS properly. trust me, it works.

The tabs are engaged, which is why when I turn it in, it preloads the throttle.

Did you flip around just the black top part of the sensor or the whole housing that fits on the throttle shaft? I just flpped the sensor. Not sure what else i can do since it idles too high no matter what position the tps is in this way.

like i said, i had problems putting it on at first too. all i can suggest is do it a few more times and make sure the tabs are engaged properly. then turn it to adjust to the right specs per FSM. it works on my fd.

What's funny about the TPS is that the plastic tabs have a C-cup shape and you think that the metal part on the throttle is supposed to sit inside the C-cup. It's not. It goes on the outside (totally weird).

Haha yea that's what I did wrong. I tried to seat the tabs into the slots, which caused the TPS to preload the throttle. Upon closer inspection the tabs don't actually fit into the slots at all, just push against them. I put it back together the right way this time, calibrated it per the service manual and everything's happy. Thanks!
