Question on stock catback

will running the stock catback with a dp and mp do any harm? or maybe will it help keep my boost in check as well as preserving my engine longer?

it wouldn't hurt anything and would probably prevent boost creep

Yep. Stock exhaust is somewhat restrictive. Will also help reduce some of the noise that a midpipe creates. It will still stink

I am thinking of doing the same thing as a "band-aid" for the next Solo II event. Hopefully it is under 95 dbA and keeps the turbos from creeping.

I was very impressed by this exhaust config on a guy's car at one of our club meets, very nice subdued sound and no boost creep according to the owner.

Only mod I had was a downpipe until I put the GReddy PE exhaust on last week. Now the boost definately spikes/creeps to 11 or 12 psi. So yes, the stock exhaust restricts boost just by keeping the exhaust flow in check.

I ran like that for over two years. Straight through midpipe (no resonator). I Didn't experience creep and the car was rather quiet.

You don't have boost creep, you just need to change the pill size in the wastegate line.
