Question on a airbag I just replaced

I just replaced a blown airbag in my 93 touring. The sensors in the front were already replaced which I inspected so I went along and installed the new bag. I disconnected the battery and installed the bag but I still get the flashing airbag light. My question is since the original bag deployed do I have to replace the airbag module? I read this somewhere but wanted to know for sure.

BTW, after I installed the new bag I held the brake pedal down for 10 seconds while the battery was disconnected was I supposed to hold it down longer.

I used the search but mostly came up with removing the airbag equipment and installing aftermarket steering wheels.. Thanks

the derm usually blows when the bag is deployed so you may need a new module. what is the code for?

Ok.... Just checked the code and the airbag is throwing 6 flashing lights, what am i gonna have to replace now! Shoulda just put in an aftermarket wheel like Momo. I'll search to see what the code means.... Thanks guys n gals

Ok.. got the codes:

Priority | Flash Code | Cause/Diagnosis

1 | Remains on | Faulty Diagnostic Module or Poor Connection at Diagnostic Module

2 | Flashes 3 times | Open Circuit Or Poor Connection Of Power Source Circuit

3 | Flashes 5 times | Faulty Front Impact Sensor

4 | Flashes 10 times | Faulty Diagnostic Module Due To Open System-Down Fuse

5 | Flashes 4 times | Faulty Rear Safing Sensor

6 | Flashes 6 times | Faulty Air Bag Module Or Poor Connection At Clockspring

7 | Flashes 9 times | Open Circuit Between Diagnostic Module And Front Impact Sensor

N/A | Remains Off | Damaged Warning Light Circuit

Also my horn doesnt work but is hooked up correctly and works when the factory alarm goes off.

The clock spring is likely damaged if the horn doesn't work. Check the clock spring located behind the steering wheel for continuity.
