Question abouts mods

I am about to get my 93 R1, and my first mods were going to be a dp, mp, Apexi N1 Dual exhaust, Greddy Profec B, and a Turbo Timer. Does anyone out there have any advice for me, like would this set-up blow the engine or is it a good setup. I just want to know what you guys think.

My car is still pretty stock and I'm no authority, but I think most here would recommend doing the "reliability mods" first, before performance mods. I also think you'll find the answers to your question after a search. Good luck.

I would go
1- Boost Gauge
2-Radiator
3-PFC
4-Everything else

1. How do you know you'll need more power than a stock RX-7 TT has? Personally, I feel that 255hp is plenty, and am not willing to sacrifice reliability or comfort to make the car accelerate any faster than it already does.

2. The stock ECU measures only the pressure of the air coming into the engine, not the volume. If you do a modification (or series of mods) that increases flow, the ECU isn't compensating for that by adding more fuel. Do a search on the "three mod rule" , it's highly likely that the mods you've listed will cause your motor to run too lean and detonate from lack of fuel. A wise rotary tuner will upgrade the ECU and then the fuel system before trying to improve flow.

Educate yourself, don't learn the hard way.

Do some research. With a full exhaust, you will still have problems avoiding the fuel cut on the stock ECU, even with a boost controller like the Profec. Don't be in such a hurry to mod the car (unless you're installing some of the aforementioned "reliability mods"); drive it and get to know it first, otherwise you will encounter tons of problems, and run yet another FD into the ground.

Stock ECU + full exhaust = bad mkay.

Avoid the midpipe until you get an upgraded ECU.

I'm guessing you are buying Leo's R1??

Well, I'm in Bham and we have a club down here..

We'll lead you in the 'tight' direction... Definitely pick up a PFC... PM me before buying that.
