Question about redline

I was just wondering... since euro FDs have redline at 7k RPM (see picture) - how much can we rev it ? 7.5k ? 8k RPM ? I think the beep comes on at around 7k RPM. So what do you think ?

I don't think euro Fd's have redline at 7, i might be wrong though. I think Automatic Fd's have redline at 7. All other fd's have at 8.

I'm not realy sure but my car (US version) beeps at 8K rpm, I barely ever hear the beep and I do many 7.5K revs without hearing the beep.

I have no idea why they did that for euro-spec FDs. In any case, you are running an American ecu now, so I don't see any reason at all that you shouldn't use 8k rpm as your redline. In any case, on a close to stock car, the power starts falling off after 7k rpm pretty quickly anyway. My car didn't pull hard all the way to redline until I installed the PFC (due to the PFC having MUCH more advanced timing than the stock ecu in the high rpm range).

Ditto.

My car makes decent power past 7k, even though the power peak is at just before 7k, maybe 6700 or 6800 rpm.

with no ignition amp, 7k is sufficient

with proper ignition/porting, 10k is your flywheel's stated limi

Have you seen a lot of breakup after 7k with no ignition amp? The only reason I ask is because when my car was tuned it had brand new plugs in it (put in while it was on the rollers), and I'm a little worried that with non-brand new plugs I might be seeing some breakup too.

Rynberg - ofcourse, but I meant it in more technical explanation. You ignite the mixture later when its more compressed or something ? How much can you advance the timing so you dont blow the engine ?
