Question about re-paint and factory rock-guard

I think Im going to have my FD resprayed while the engine and everything is out, just to freshen it up. The paint is still good (give it a 7/10), but there are a few spots here and there and I think it would be worth it to have it 100% before I start working on the mechanical stuff. Anyway, what do most of you guys do about the factory rock guard/crinkle paint on the bottom? I dont mind it there, but it is easier/better to have it sanded out, or can it be left alone? I wouldnt see how you can properly sand/prep leaving it on, but Im no body guy.

Are you talking about the wrinkle paint on the bottom part where the sideskirts bolt on?
If you are what i did was just use a chizzle to scrape it all off to bare metal.

It will sand off like everything else. To do it right, you should strip off all the paint before respraying.

I would do all the mechanical stuff before painting. That way nothing gets nicked up while working on it.

I had my car repainted, the body shop said he was going to sand it smooth, but he didn't 2-3 feet it looks smooth but up close it's a bit textured, at first I was disappointed but it actually looks fine for me, i'll take some pictures of it to show you when i get the car back
