question about pineapple racing?
Okay I hear everyone saying to go to pineapple because they are the best and they offer a 5 year warranty, but about that 5 year warranty, what good does it do if you live in like say florida? you cant drive to oregon on a car that is having problems or doesnt run at all, and even if its a minor problem there is no way someone would drive 3000 miles to get warranty work done, so i am just wondering about that, and second how much does it cost to take out and put a motor back in, not the rebuild but just like taking it out and then when id get it back putting it back in, thanks for the info

i am currently going through the warrenty process on my engine. I live in grand rapids, MI and the best prize i could get from a shop was $1500 for R&R, but i found someone who could do it at his house for $800. But the warenty pretty much says if you are not at fault of messing up the engine then they cover almost everything, but if u messed it up then u have to pay, Ill let u know how everything goes for me when it is done.

It's a choice if you can pull and reinstall the engine yourself. If you pay a shop to do it then both party's will most likely blame the other when something goes wrong. Not only that but you will have to pay to remove and reinstall for warranty work. You should go with Pettit Racing if you need it installed (with a warranty more then one year).

Anytime you can get an engine built AND installed by the same place with a warranty, DO IT, regardless of price. I actually offer a longer engine warranty when I do the installation for you, for obvious reasons. There are way to many yahoo "joe's corner garage" installs going on these days. Joe doesnt know much about your unique car. Joe doesn't care whether or not the engine you bought elsewhere runs right or not. The man who built the engine cares about it, because he is warrantying it...so if you have him do the install AND the build, it protects you both...the builder from BS install issues, and the customer from...well...BS install issues and/or engine issues caused by install issues.
